About The Book
Poetry on Fire
In the tradition of poetry, there is an expectation for subtlety, complexity, and often, a highbrow approach. Yet, my book aims to break from that norm. It doesn’t adhere to the lofty language of Shakespeare or cater to the tastes of professors and scholars. Instead, it speaks in the voice of the everyday—raw, accessible, and genuine.
This collection of poetry, written in the language of the blue-collar worker, is designed to reach into the core of daily life, transforming the mundane into a canvas of metaphor and meaning. Through simple yet evocative words, each verse seeks to spark emotion and sketch vivid scenes, capturing the beauty and grit of ordinary routines. In a unique perspective that allows readers to connect across communities transcending demographics and reaching some universal struggle through imagery, lines that are in effect a bridge between generation and are to draw the common folks the joy to behold of poetry.
Unlike the refined, scholarly poesy, my work harmonizes with street talk, choosing words that are grounded and effortless. These verses flow naturally, like a thought or dream, inviting all readers to experience poetry in a new, relatable way.
